A tribute to Julio Cortázar

This exhibition at Casa del Lector, which kicks off the series entitled De camino a Bolaño (On the road to Bolaño), is a tribute to Julio Cortázar on the centenary of his birth (Brussels, 26 August 1914) and comprises items from the Museo del Escritor de Madrid collection.
The show takes an in-depth look into Julio Cortázar's world and the many kinds of books he read during his life and his productive literary career. On display are his first editions, translations, personal items, signed books, correspondence, original drawings for his books, and photographs from the period.
Curated by the directors of the Centre for Modern Art, Claudio Pérez and Raúl Manrique, the exhibition is arranged in eight sections illustrating various aspects of the author's life and work:

- Reading music
- Reading reality. Committed writer
- His literary career
- Visual and artistic reading
- The critical reader
- Complicit readings
Opening ceremony: 9 October at 7pm
