Matadero Madrid center for contemporary creation
ACCIÓN!MAD14
11th Live Art Festival
Institution
When we first tackled this project back in 2003, there was no festival or programme specifically dedicated to live and performance art in Madrid, and only a handful of them in the rest of Spain. So, Acción!MAD
stems from the need to fill this gap in our city’s cultural calendar, as an annual event that gives the people of Madrid a broad, in-depth view of an independent, autonomous branch of the visual arts, governed by its own set of temporal and spatial rules.
This year we have chosen to focus on the work of a new generation of artists, many of them women, who are making Live Art from different perspectives.
The “Fragile Space” is based on the idea of an ongoing collaboration with the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, and involves students who have been attending the Acción!MAD workshop at the Faculty of Fine Arts since February. PROGRAMME: Thursday 20 November – 6pm
