Matadero Madrid is hosting, for the second year running, the exhibition The best photography books os the year, an exhibition through which PHotoEspaña recognises the vital importance of the publishing industry as an instrument for diffusing photography.
Since 1998, PhotoEspaña has been offering the PHE Besdt Photography Book Award, under three categories: Best National Photography Book, Best International Photography Book, and Key Publisher of the Year. The exhibition shows the 100 short listed books for the 13th edition of the award, from which a jury comprising figures from the world of photography, -publishers, curators, photographers and directors of institutions and arte centres- will choose the winners.
