Basurama proposes an internal landscape for the Abierto x Obras space inspired by the planting of sunflowers and that, with the help of the residents of Gran Via del Sureste (PAU de Vallecas), it has prepared during the summer of 2016.
The abandoned "central boulevard" of this avenue is, in fact, a piece of waste ground that is 350 long and 30 metres wide, one of the many reminders that the bursting of the real estate bubble left in Madrid. We plough the area, plant sunflowers, care for them, water them, collect their seeds, toast them and eat them together. In Madrid, where there are seeds there is public space; there are meetings, there are conversations, there is life. Looking to the future from the darkest place.
