UN SECRETO EN LA CAJA

Un secreto en la caja (A secret in the box) explores the life of Ecuadorian writer Marcelo Chiriboga, one of the big names in the Latin American literature boom of the 60s. A series of interviews, visits to different cities, archival material and most prominent work of the writer, La línea imaginaria (The imaginary Line), are intertwined in a jigsaw where the border between reality and fiction is erased.

The character of Chiriboga becomes an excuse to explore, with humor and irony, several aspects related to our identity as a country: our belligerent background; the indiference for the world of culture; complexes and conflicts of our national ideology; exile and literature.
