An intensive monograph aimed at the city’s visual arts collective: video artists, performers, architects, choreographers, dancers, actors, designers, plastic artists, filmmakers….
“On the transfer from an exhibition format to a performance format, from research into language to conventions, from space to virtual architecture, from the force of choreography to musical rhythm, from the object to the subject and from the everyday to fiction. Jorge Dutor and Guillem Mont de Palol will guide us through all these parameters and they will also tell us how Grand Applause came about; an approximation to the convention of opera and a reflection on the issue of authorship.
In this workshop, we are going to build choreographic landscapes, based on whatever materials we find. Virtual, ephemeral architectures that ask questions or tell us stories. We are going to distance ourselves from the object (humanist and concrete) and we are going to assess the material (post humanist and abstract). We are going to build a 1:1 scale model where we can link those objects that disturb, torment or perturb us. We ask participants that they observe their everyday life, that they be alert when they are walking down the street, in the most intimate aspects of their home life or in the rubbish, to locate “monster" materials that are sufficiently suggestive or innocuous with which to play and compose in our 1:1 scale model. These materials can be of any nature, but we should try to exclude objects, although they may be artistic works that already exists”, Jorge Dutor and Guillem Mont de Palol.
As a result of the workshop they will create an installation that can be visitedfrom 24 to 29 April, and which will include work by Norberto Llopis, Luis Úrculo, and Bernard Willhelm.
