In the run-up to the in-person edition of the international literature festival Capítulo Uno (Chapter One),we present a series of online literary conversations that have already featured Anne Carson talking to Marta Peirano, and Kalaf Epalanga talking to Tania Adam. On this occasion, we welcome the highly acclaimed New York writer Ted Chiang, interviewed by the cultural critic and curator José Luis de Vicente.

Chiang talks to us about ‘Exhalation’, his second volume of short stories, recently published by Sexto Piso. He and de Vicente explore the genre of science fiction and its capacity to produce imaginaries of other possible societies and to progress towards that future that from our present is only hinted at.
