En la boca del lobo (In the Wolf’s Den)

En la boca del lobo is an artistic and research project that explores the relationships between theatricality, masculinity, absence and modulations of visibility. If theatricality is commonly associated with an excess of visuality, an exaggerated flashiness and an ostentation linked to the feminine, this project is interested in those scenes that are offered as outside the theatrical: default scenes, or scenes that are equally as invisible as hegemonic masculinity but require a host of theatrical strategies to sustain themselves.

Taking as a starting point the documentary tricks used by the populariser and naturalist Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente in his film shoots, En la boca del lobo will not only explore the mechanisms of absence produced by masculinity and its theatricality, but also the social implications of erasing the veracity of an event and the possibilities of accessing and controlling the devices used to produce realism and emptiness.
