This year´s festival image reproduces the cover of a mythical record Tapesongs by Joan La Barbara produced by Chiaoscuro Records with the collaboration of John Cage. The original picture was taken in 1968 by Hank O’Neal, one of the most prestigious photographers in the United States, who also photographed major figures of the Beat Generation such as Allen Ginsberg or William Burroughs. Poets, now in 2018, has gathered again Joan La Barbara and Han O’Neal in New York to re-take the same picture 40 years later. Both artists will visit Matadero Madrid on July 2, to share the story of this picture, and Joan La Barbara will perform a very special act. On that same day, the festival will include the performance of American poet, performer and activist Anne Waldman, one of the few artists that remains active from the Beat Generation.
The festival collaborates for the third time in a row with Madrid´s annual book fair, Feria del Libro de Madrid, and will include the presence  of national and international publishers who care about the object and a more personal distribution. The festival also features several installations and collaborative workshops for all audiences.
