ILLUSTRATORS AND OTHER CREATIVE ARTISTS IN THE DIGITAL ERA

As part of the Observatorio de la Ilustración Gráfica, FADIP and Fundación Arte y Derecho announce an event with round-table discussions and talks designed to provoke thought and reflection regarding the changes taking place in the illustration market for illustrators and other professionals in the field.  These changes, in a market that continues to be unstable, are in many cases being used- exploited- to diminish the power of copyright laws; despite the obvious advantages of the digital age, the relationship practices between the components of the value chain which this digital format requires remain undefined and an inadequate introduction could lead to a step backward instead of forward in the historical achievements in copyright law.

The round-tables will be led by professional from the world of illustration and the concerned markets (such as publishing houses and the media), specialists in law and new technology, as well as representatives of state and international associativism.  They will be colloquium-style in experience panel format: each guest will give a talk-presentation, which will be followed by a debate, with audience participation.
