Directed by Franco Battiato, Musikanten pone en escena the last years of composer Ludwig van Beethoven's life, seen from an unusual perspective. In 2005, a TV screenwriter is living an existence poor in interpersonal relationships. She focuses exclusively on her work and her one huge passion: operas by the famous German composer Beethoven. Obsessed by him, by the legend, by his genius, she listens to his music again and again until the day when, in a hypnotic process, she finds herself living in his time, to be exact, 1826.
