Urbano En Vano program collects a number of editions that include different perspectives of Urban Art. By it´s own nature, the many ramifications of the street art expressions are rarely well-edited. Only from the point of view of urbanism, or more sadly, from the police standpoint, some works that are intended to have a furtive and fleeting life are documented.
While the Internet is full of thousands of examples of this art on blogs, websites, networks, etc. only a few are printed on paper. And even fewer are the urban artists who have decided, as part of their project, to consider publication as an extension of their work.
Urbano En Vano brings together a number of editions that reflect on street art forms, most of them self-published by the artists, and some of them in the form of limited and volatile editions, as they usually carry out plastic activity on city walls. Furthermore, Urbano en Vano collects publications that consider urban in art both from a documentation point of view, and as a reflexion and criticism standpoint.
Among the products on sale in Bellamatamátic there are publications that research on Colombian popular graphics (Popular Luxury editions, Bogotá), reflections on the graffiti from the interventions of Basque artist Juan Aizpitarte, copies of the contemporary creation magazine AAAA (Madrid), of EN3PALABRAS project (Barcelona), of internationally renowned Italian artist BLU, or of NOAZ or Nuria Mora, from Madrid. Selection will be closed as usually with the editions promoted by Matadero Madrid.
Presentation: Quico Cadaval
Fifth program of Bellamatamátic Urbano En Vano will include a performance of the Galician storyteller Quico Cadaval. Quico Cadaval is an actor, playwright and theater director. In his own words, “I am also a writer, performer, lecturer, eccentric, stage manager, cultural agitator, social bartender, chef, talent-crewman, best-boy, favorite son, local chronicler, and dilettante anthropologist (delete as convincing)”. On the presentation of the program, La Más Bella will offer a refreshing Andalusian gazpacho.
