Retro Party is a workshop designed to study the origen of videogames using a framework that considers their aesthetics, hardware power, and duration and complexity of their gameplay. The workshop aims at taking a look at the future through the past and the present of videogames, using their history as a starting point for discussion.
Jesús Fabre (Murcia, 1983), BS Information Technology, has worked in IT security, web programming, and in organising videogame events at a national level. He was the subdirector of the Feria RetroMadrid 2010 and cultural coordinator at RetroMadrid FEST, both organised by AUIC. His work has focused mainly on heightening the social, educational and artistic aspects of these events. A collector of classic videogames, Fabre also studies the history of interactive leisure activities. Game Star(t) School includes a workshop programme that aims, through the videogame, to strike up debate with young people about many different topics present in videogames that might be of importance to them.
