Georges Pérec has surprised us from the beginning. To whom does he address his work? To the audience? To the actors? To the characters? To the characters’ conscience?

Incrementum plunges us into the dizzying journey of an office worker seeking a pay raise, a goal that stretches over time into a repetitive and absurd cycle. In an austere white space, the six protagonists’ flawless performance is the mark that makes the difference. As the staging progresses, we discover a fissure in the characters, who pass through all kinds of moods when entangled in their own speculations.

A written text with a strong oral component, a stream of consciousness in a permanent split, as agonising as it is bizarre, dizzying and oppressive… this highly Kafkaesque tale is a disconcerting mixture of irony and nightmare; a cynical portrait of the world of work, both yesterday and today.
