The Type Directors Club is an international organisation that supports and promotes typographical excellence, whether in print or on the screen. Founded in New York in 1946, the TDC represents the best in today’s typographical design and its applications.
In addition to promoting contests and educational activities (workshops, seminars, etc.), each year the Type Directors Club organises a travelling exhibition of books and posters from all over the world, chosen for their typographical excellence
Year after year (and this is the 57th), the TDC receives thousands of works coming from thirty-odd countries and puts together an international jury.
The result is always an exhibition of pieces linked by a masterful handling of typography. Thus, the exhibition turns into a showcase of experiments, trends, great designs released worldwide and, in this online age, a tribute to paper and printing. The Central de Diseño / DIMAD has hosted an exhibition by TDC of New York every year since it was created.
