Matadero Madrid unveils the new facilities at warehouse 15 Nave de Música, the space occupied by the Red Bull Music Academy until November that will be dedicated to running the centre’s entire music programme starting in 2012. With a radio studio, a recording studio, a small stage for concerts, rehearsal rooms and other facilities, the Nave de Música is an authentic musical oasis and probably the best example in Madrid of this new architecture that works on recycling things already in existence, with limited resources but exquisite attention paid to detail. The creators of the space (a place that you’ll be able to enjoy next year at festivals such as EléctriCO, Día de la Música, concerts and sound installations) are the young architects at Langarita-Navarro, in collaboration with the Mexican designer Jerónimo Hagerman. Furthermore, the warehouse hosts the works of 18 young emerging artists-in-residence in Madrid, including Eltono, Jordi Ribes, Julio Falagán and Marlon de Azambuja. All the works are displayed under the title El ruido de las burbujas (The sound of bubbles), and these bubbles are only one of the signs that the young art scene in Madrid is set to boil. Come see for yourself.
