La Glorieta (The roundabout) is a travelling project involving various artists from different disciplines in different cities that hinges on the idea of the centre and the periphery in order to sketch out a common map. Launched by the Societat Doctor Alonso, by stage director Tomás Aragay and playwright Sofía Asencio, the project has already passed through Artium Vitoria, where Doctor Alonso worked with actress Espe López, audiovisual producer Chus Domínguez, choreographer Idoia Zabaleta, actor-teacher Igor de Quadra and actor Txubio Fernández.
On the second leg of its trip it went to Elche, and in September it will travel to Rome as part of the Festival Short Theatre. In October, it will head to Seville as part of the feSt2011 festival of theatre and the performing arts, and it will end the year at Matadero Madrid’s Abierto x Obras.
A public presentation will take place on 17 December at 1pm.
