FESTIVAL ESCENA CONTEMPORÁNEA. Since 2003 Luciana Fina, an Italian artist living in Lisbon, has been working on a film portrait project that includes various installations grouped under the title El tiempo de un retrato (The time of a portrait). This set of video installations was created around the experience of looking and of time.

Chant portraits, which forms part of this project, features three Portuguese artists of different generations: a theatre actress (Carla Bolito), a dancer (Vera Mantero) and a film actress (Isabel Ruth). In three shots, each lasting 60 minutes in a continuous projection, they sing a song about time upon Luciana’s request. The songs selected are Fino all'ultimo minuto by Piero Ciampi (1961), Oração ao tempo by Caetano Veloso (1979) and Le te vurria vasà by Russo e Di Capua (1900).

These three portraits, three times and three sentiments coexist, independently and in cooperation with each other, between the time of a song and the time of a portrait in a new spatial link, a space saturated with image-time.

Opening: Saturday, 28 at 1pm.
