LEJOS DE LOS ÁRBOLES + MUDANZA

The essential Caimán-Cuadernos de Cine:     LEJOS DE LOS ÁRBOLES  (Jacinto Esteva / 63' / 1972 / Spain)   A new, re-edited version, 2010 by the filmmaker Pere Portabella, of this classic documentary, in which Jacinto Esteva takes a look at some Spanish traditions related to pain and death.   MUDANZA  (Pere Portabella / 20' / 2010 / Spain)   In 2007 and 2008, in Federico García Lorca´s house/museum, the works of thirty international artists were shown under the title Everstill / Siempretodavía. The artists were invited by the curator Hans-Ulrich Obrist  to create an intervention in this emblematic space. The Catalan filmmaker, Pere Portabella’s, contribution to the project consisted of emptying the house of its decoration to invoke the presence of the poet through the absence of the elements associated with him.
