What are we going to learn about and experiment with?
We are taking an approach to product design, which is specifically concerned with chairs.
This weekend activity, forms part of LED ;-) ’ s Laboratorio Expeimental’s (Experimental Laboratory’s) design and creativity for primary education program, in which we approach the creative and resolute possibilities that design offers up to us. In this Laboratory we seek a type of learning that is creative and progressive. We are not so much seeking to gain a visual result, but rather a creative experience with the qualities derived from the different manifestations of design: Fashion, interior design, product design, and graphic design.
What will we be doing in this workshop on the 18th and 19th of May?
Taking a look at product design that is to do with chairs in particular.
Looking, playing, and reflecting on chairs: Designs, forms and materials.
Design and create a prototype of a chair.
In this activity we promote playing games and imagination.
In this activity we are not so concerned with the outcome, but rather a progressive learning style arrived at through the creative disciplines of design.
Coordination and implementation of the workshops
muakbabi
muakbabi is a studio that designs decorative objects for children and is involved in cultural administration. The latest instalment of our activities, serves as a vehicle, with which, to convey the values that form a structural part of the objects we design: starting off with the concept of design being defined as a transmitter for the plurality of realities that exist in global culture, the respect of nature and natural resources, respect for the cultures of other towns and that of our own, game play, creativity and of course fun as a strategy for learning…that’s it, design with an educational value!!
