The Good Person of Szechwan is an historical play focusing on the dialogue between good and evil, on the difficulties of living justly in a world where justice can only be implemented by adopting ways of fighting evil. Where it is practically immposible to maintain purity amongst ruffians and where innocence is a drag.

Three gods have come down to earth to see if there is still a single good soul in the Chinese city of Szechuan. The only find one person that wants redemption: the prositutue Shen-Teh. The grateful gods leave Shen-Teh two things: money in order to set up a usiness and the mission of following a good life. The impossibility of Shen-Teh managing a succesful business alongside leading a good life is the central conflict of the play and Brecht offers just one solution: to turn Shen-Teh into two people: the good and the cruel. It is the eternal conflict of the struggle between good and evil, from the perspective of alturism. This is an unfortunate theme of contemporary society.

The internactional compay '13 entre L y M' is formed of artists from Spain, Cuba and Colombia and are directed by the actor and director, Jesús Prieto. Their work is interested in creating compact versions of great works, both classic and contemporary, with a small cast that are able to play the many caracters onstage and performing the universal content that appeals to a broad contemporary audience.

Vladimar Cruz, the director of The Good Person of Szechuan, has developed a career spanning over 30 years, including film, there, and television. Although he has also an international reputation for the Cuban film Strawberry and Chocolates, nominated for an oscar in 1995, his work is rich and divers and he has developed his theatrical career in Cuba, Spain, the Netherlands, Portugal, México, Panamá, Colombia, Venezuela, Serbia and USA.
