DANZAD MALDITOS

In the era of America’s Great Depression, dance marathons were held for couples who danced continuously day and night before finishing exhausted. The winners were those who held out the longest, and they were given a cash prize.

Based on Sydney Pollack’s well-known film "They Shoot Horses, Don’t They?", this production recreates these endurance tests where dancers were the embodiment of misery. It is a real competition: each performance is a blank sheet of paper upon which the participants’ movements will be written.
