Sofía Tudela
Geografías del trabajo (Geographies of Work)
Geografías del trabajo is an artistic research project that explores the landscape of Mediterranean olive groves as a territory permeated by history, production, and the logic of capital. Taking a visual, sonic, and textual approach, the project examines the transformation of this environment into an intensive monoculture system, along with the forms of labour that make it possible, frequently reliant on migrant populations. Challenging the idea of the olive grove as an environmental Arcadia, Sofía Tudela offers a critical yet sensitive reflection on the tensions between production, ecology, and memory, understanding the territory as a disputed space. The artist develops the project through research, fieldwork, and the creation of an audiovisual and photographic archive, alongside a collective reading workshop focused on the landscape and its imaginaries.
