Blind Sensorium: Antropología visual, an exhibition by Armin Linke

Visual Arts

Armin Linke's work focuses on documenting the effects of globalization and infrastructure on different local populations. Through this exhibition, a co-production by Fundació Sorigué and Matadero, the artist proposes a visual approach to climate change and its material landscape from both a rigorous and reflective perspective.

Fundació Sorigué, through its PLANTA project, has supported for the last years the research carried out by the artist together with his collaborators on the forces that are impacting on the face of the Earth. Linke's project, which combines moving images, photography, documentation, interviews and field work, has materialized in the film Blind Sensorium, which is presented now for the first time in Spain. It is a film conceived as an artistic essay that examines the many aspects of the Anthropocene.

'Blind Sensorium: Antropología visual', proposed as a visual anthropology of climate change and its landscape, invites us to become aware of the critical situation of the Earth and of the conflictive role that human beings and modern societies play in its transformation. The images invite us to reflect on our actions and to observe and interpret the new natural and artificial landscapes that we inhabit. This exhibition is offered as a tool for the understanding of the circumstances and the possible negotiations of new solutions for our planet.
