Matadero Madrid center for contemporary creation
Capítulo uno. Talk with Deborah Levy and Andrea Aguilar
Matadero Madrid, in a new chapter of its monthly program of conversations with the best international literature, talked with the consecrated writer born in Johannesburg, Deborah Levy. Her work is distinguished by reaching far beyond the much overused autofiction. In his books, the characters—including themselves—are not just held before a descriptive mirror. Levy manages to transmit compassion and understanding for them, through a close and delicate style that starts from a meticulous observation of the behavior of human beings. “Learning to raise your voice” is the title of the talk in which he talks with the cultural journalist and author, Andrea Aguilar.
