The Guerrilla Girls have been exposing discrimination and corruption in art, film, politics and pop culture since 1985. For years they have been stirring up audiences with presentations and workshops in full jungle drag, at schools, museums and organizations of all types, in almost every state in the U.S. and on almost every continent.
The performance uses video, music and projected images and lasts about an hour, followed by a question period. They take the audience through how they came up with their many posters, books (The Guerrilla Girls Bedside Companion to the History of Western Art, Bitches, Bimbos and Ballbreakers: The Guerrilla Girls' Guide to Female Stereotypes, The Guerrilla Girls' Hysterical Herstory of Hysteria and How It Was Cured, From Ancient Times Until No ) and other actions.
Guerrilla Girls want to make sure that a long, unbroken legacy of outspoken feminist activism thrives everywhere. Feminism is the “f” word for The Future.
