> Events focused on listening and music—such as DJ sets, podcasts, soundscapes, gatherings, screenings, workshops, and readings—will take place Tuesday to Sunday, from 12:00 to 21:00.

> The program features contributions from creators and artists including Ivan Sette, Ran Zhang, Rubén Grilo, Maguette Dieng, Sonia Fernández Pan, Marco Padiya, María Buey, Javier Rodríguez, Radio Relativa, F.T.C.N. Ediciones, Julián Galay, and Huda.

Matadero Madrid, part of the Department of Culture, Tourism and Sports of Madrid City Council, presents ‘A Living Room for the City’ at Nave Una through July 31. The project is a physical and creative refuge, in line with the summer programming many cultural institutions are adopting in response to the climate crisis and rising temperatures.

Drawing on the idea of the home living room as a space for gathering and hospitality, Intermediae has created a broad program of activities and practices to take shelter from the heat—connecting the intimate and domestic with the exploration of a shared space in community. It’s a cultural living room grounded in conversation, listening, and music, shaped by the work of local artists and creators.

In ‘A Living Room for the City’, there's no obligation to consume. The free use of the space as shelter from the summer heat also invites people to rest, chat, work, read, or simply reflect together. Curated by Intermediae, the program unfolds Tuesday to Sunday, from 12:00 to 21:00, with live sets and DJ sessions complemented by podcasts and soundscapes, along with gatherings, readings, workshops, and screenings hosted by participating artists.

The program—which already featured last week’s session Usual Offers Allow Arguably, curated by Ivan Sette in conversation with Ran Zhang, Rubén Grilo, Maguette Dieng, and Sonia Fernández Pan, as well as the concert-performance Ambient Layers by Marco Padiya—continues with the work of María Buey, Javier Rodríguez (Robuche), Radio Relativa, F.T.C.N. Ediciones, Julián Galay, and Huda.

Also part of the program is a lush collection of plants on loan from the Retiro Greenhouse Nursery, under the care of Elena Páez from botanical studio Planthae, who will lead two workshops titled Care for Your Plants on July 3 and 11.
