Aldo Urbano

‘El asalto de los pillos’ (The Attack of the Rogues) is a comic that combines humour with exaggerated mysticism

Using humour and a somewhat exaggerated mystical tone, El asalto de los pillos addresses issues such as social inequality and the lack of opportunities, the reactions of a poisoned land, or the passage of time. The comic’s simple and direct drawings unfold a fable with a rather twisted moral. The characters have adventures and seek help in a woe-begotten land where humour is more an inevitable consequence than a conscious decision. Unscrupulous thugs, losers and drifters abound in the strips, giving rise to reflections and conflicts, not to mention many comic situations. And yet, despite all their setbacks, there is room for the search for wisdom, something that only some of them will find.
