AMECUM (Association of Cultural Mediators of Madrid)

The Association of Cultural Mediators of Madrid (AMECUM) was born in December 2015 with the purpose of raising awareness and giving professional status to the activity of cultural mediation through knowledge, training, collaborative work and the improvement of working conditions in the museum education sector.

The association is the result of the urgent need to give visibility to the professional sector of cultural mediation and its role as a social tool in the development of a critical citizenry able to achieve empowerment through culture. They are committed to generating knowledge about the profession from their own experience in professional practice, sharing what they have learnt and encouraging critical reflection as a group.
