Este Cardinal

Este Cardinal is a research and development project that includes artistic-pedagogical activities that use light for playful action as a means of creative exploration for children. One of the constant concerns of human beings throughout time has been light: space begins at the limit of tangible matter and reaches us through light and shadow. Space is necessarily perceived by the light that qualifies it. Through light, children observe, investigate, create hypotheses, in short, they discover the world through curiosity and surprise. Experimentación with light is an action of artistic expression in which aesthetics, perception and emotion are placed at the centre of the experience and are key elements in a person’s creative development.

The aim of the project at the Centre of Artistic Residencies is to investigate, develop and document installations of artistic experimentation using light as a basic element that enhances, integrates or differentiates the spaces in which play takes place, creating learning scenographies that, by being endowed with meaning through light, generate a vital influence on the cognitive experience of the children during the action of artistic experimentation in which they are immersed.

The project aspires to generate creative development activities that are open and heterogeneous and encourage dynamics in the transformation of education.
