The city bustles with the noises and sounds that accompany us every day. The aim of this project is to capture the square metres of sound making up the city in order to make a new reading of it from a sound point of view.
The Metros2 de sonido project began in 2010 with the idea of investigating, observing and learning about the sound space using strategies ranging between experimental music, sound art, geolocation and collective creation. For some months, Intermediae hosted talks, an introductory workshop to the practice of sound recording and various concerts.
M2 de sonido has grown as a collaborative project thanks to the degree of participation. In this phase we have worked with people connected with the district, transferring their perceptions of sound to this installation. We invite you to take a different kind of stroll through the district, enjoying this recorded sound representation of Legazpi. Along the route you can follow through the interactive space, you will hear the most interesting sounds from the neighbourhood or just everyday ones, organised in time depending on the time of day when they were captured. As visitors, we generate part of that sound environment.We would like you to take part, playing with the cubes, selecting them and placing them in the installation, interacting with the sound environment.
