[The Agrostation] sets out to create New Urban Realities in Madrid, featuring a citizens laboratory for creation and experimentation with ecological systems to come up with new sustainable practices for saving energy and resources.  It is comprised of a covered mobile space that will house self-buildable energy and resource saving systems based on open source principles, so that can be used, tested, and improved by everyday people.  This space will make it possible for different urban agents and communities to act as a source of creation.  Thus, they will be able to experiment with innovative ideas using co-creative mechanisms and test the different solutions they work on in real situations.

The first phase of construction of the Agrostation will be held at Intermediae, Matadero Madrid, from April 22 and May 10, 2013 and will consist of collaborative workshops, open and free to all.  Afterwards, a process will begin to come up with a management plan to take the station to  public spaces within the city, so that it may be enjoyed by all.

Agronauts is an open multidisciplinary project that rethinks the relationship between people and the environment.
New Urban Realities is a new phase for Agronauts, which involves generating creative tools to formalize and broadcast to the collective imagination truthful situations and practices in an urban environment, rethought in terms of sustainability and meant for the common good.  These circumstances are made possible by means of innovative ecological domestic equipment that is  self-building and based on the principles of open source.
