Tierra bendita journeys through the most picturesque and unique corners of Andalusia and through the most representative songs and dances of flamenco. A suite replete with tradition and modernity, the ancient and the new, the aesthetics of the 18th century and those of the 21st, from the Phrygian mode to the Mixolydian, from  ancestral laments to those they evoke today. It creates a lifeline along which traditional and contemporary flamenco harmonise and nourish each other. An honest and unashamed flamenco world that showcases new generations of creators, laying the artist bare before the audience. It is a painstaking work, full of nuances, which changes structures while respecting the form. Unbound by the strictures of the disciplines presented, it is conceived to allow each and every part to stand independently on its own. The collective effort engenders the complete creation.

Following its success in February 2025, when it completely sold out every performance of Pineda, a show commissioned to kick off the programme at Centro Danza Matadero, the Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía, under the direction of Patricia Guerrero (National Dance Prize 2021), returns to our stage for another season with a show that celebrates the universality of the flamenco art in all its forms.

This show is not included in the ‘Choose 5’ and ‘Choose 10’ season tickets.
