Based on the version of the tragedy that Jean Anouilh wrote in 1942 during the German occupation of France in the Second World War. Rubén Ochandiano, describes his vision of a timeless, heart breaking Antigone, full of emotion and tenderness, which represents the struggle for justice in the face of oppressive laws and is a song of freedom.   Last Summer, Ochandiano also directed his first feature length film, Cuento de Verano, together with Carlos Dorrego. The two of them have returned to work together again to take to the stage of the Naves del Español in Matadero. This Antigone is played by the prestigious actress Najwa Nimri, who has had a long career in cinema and also as a singer. However, this is the first time she has done theatre.

Alongside Najwa on stage will be Ruben Ochandiano, taking the part of Creon, and in addition there will also be actors, such as Toni Acosta, Berta Ojea, Sergio Mur, David Kammenos and Nico Romero. From the 1st of March to the 17th of March, the actor Eleazar Ortiz will replace Rubén Ochandiano taking the part of Creon.
