THE AUGMENTED LIBRARY:VVVV

Faced with new paradigms emerging from an information society and new technologies, the library remains as a bridge between knowledge and the human being. In some ways the internet is a great library of Babel, however, it is its users, who organise, select and make sense of it. If we now imagine the library of the future, the internet will become physical.   During the coming days of the 16^th,17^th and 18^th of January, we will cruise through information in three-dimensional worlds, we will travel through virtual reality novels and write diaries on the web.   In this workshop we will work on the concept of the digital library, especially from a technological point of view, studying the different contemporary software and hardware tools. We will specifically work with the conception, development and prototyping of virtual reality environments, augmented reality and interaction with the multipurpose software VVVV.   No previous knowledge is necessary, but participants should bring a laptop with them (Windows) with VVVV software installed on it.   Further information and the program can be found here.
