Until the end of January, visitors can check out the #BID16 exhibition on at Matadero Madrid’s Central de Diseño. The show features a selection of 470 works that aim, among other things, to promote Ibero-American design culture, making known and disseminating the work of Ibero-American professionals and companies, inviting the general public and different social stakeholders to learn more about design culture.
BID knows how to use its convening power and has clearly established itself as an event with the ability to represent: professionals, companies, schools and universities, teachers and students all have a voice at this exhibition.
BID16 aims to reflect upon and discuss new production models, novel uses of materials, new business and entrepreneurial models, proposals for the social inclusion and training of young people and future professionals. Processes, interpretations, experiences and ways of thinking about society and living within it, from design to collective willingness.
The subjects and main ideas upon which we base our work are innovation, experimentation, entrepreneurship, sustainability, creativity, new ideas, development, citizen participation, technological research, design for everyone, social inclusion and cooperation.
Areas of healthcare, technology, town planning, the integration of science and industry in design processes and design thinking are subjects that can feasibly be dealt with in cross-sectional dialogue with other disciplines, including architecture, medicine, science, photography and the humanities.
We are interested in design because of its capacity to transform, its creative and cultural value and its ability to provide solutions to problems. Design associated with finding ways to develop new economic activities with sustainability and experimentation very much in mind.
