From 2 to 7 November this year, coinciding with the Ibero-American Summit hosted in Madrid, we have a new opportunity to amplify the reach and visibility of design from Latin America, Portugal, and Spain, with Madrid acting as a bridge and welcoming host city. As always, the event will take place at Central de Diseño / Matadero Madrid.
The Ibero-American Design Biennial (BID) is a platform connecting design, education, and practice across the Ibero-American context. More than just an event, it is designed as a meeting space brought to life by professionals, students, academics, businesses, institutions, and communities—a place to share processes, exchange knowledge, and build networks.
Through exhibitions, professional and academic activities, alongside public programming, BID promotes dialogue between design and other disciplines, territories, and creative practices, expanding its impact in real-world scenarios.
Within this framework, the professional call for entries merges with the BID Teaching and Design Meeting around shared thematic tracks and activities—linking education, research, and practice to explore how design addresses contemporary challenges. This edition's call includes the exhibition bid_est / Young Talents: Futures Mapping and the FABID26 Academic Forum, featuring paper presentations and defenses.
