When Javi Vicente moved to Madrid, he decided that his band Big City was not enough, so he created Carasueño, a baby octopus midway between Tim Buckley, M. Ward and Mark Kozelek.
Javi Vicente has played with many groups (Dream Lovers, Tachenko, etc.), in addition to dabbling as a permanent and volatile member in The Secret Society, Russian Red, Le Mot and Bigott. But for the time being, Carasueño is the vehicle that Javi Vicente uses as an outlet for the songs that he always wanted to play but wasn’t allowed to, and for the new, naked songs he creates before converting them into arrangements for Big City. Thus, due to the vicissitudes of life, Carasueño is now the most stripped-down and intimate way to present Big City in an “acoustic” format. As a new project that turns its original goal on its head, Carasueño now serves to promote the songs released by Big City.
Don’t miss this concert on Thursday, 11 August at 10 pm in the Archipiélago installation at Matadero Madrid’s summer terrace.
