Convinced that humour knows no boundaries, a young documentary director embarks on an unusual mission: to find humour in Palestine. At first, she only finds hopelessness –“our whole situation is one big joke”–, but little by little she discovers a surprising, deeply-rooted culture of comedy. From stories that make fun of the Hebronites and Palestinian lepers to political jokes and bitter anecdotes about the absurdity of their imposed everyday existence, her journey takes her to a little-known world where a ray of hope pierces the darkness of the conflict.
