Martin Scorsese sets off on a journey from the banks of the river Niger in Mali to the cotton fields and bars of the Mississippi River Delta, to trace back the origins of blues music. This emotionally resonant film includes original performances by Taj Mahal, Corey Harris, Ali Farka Touré and Salif Keita and rare archival footage.
