Objectives:
In February we start up a new and different club in which we read images. Every month we will celebrate a different picture book to share our personal interpretations with a special invited guest, who is ready to kick things off.
We will start on Valentines’ day with books you have a crush on. Is there a picture book that stole your heart? Bring it with you! The book you’re in love with will get a space in an article that we will be writing together to put on the web.
Something we will learn:
How many readings does an illustrated picture book have? At least, as many as people can get from coming together to discuss them. With an introduction to “Citas ilustradas” a new reading club starts up, different from the usual book club meeting. What’s that you say, you don’t have anything on on Thursdays or they could be better? This is your club, join and you’ll see that you’ll soon become hooked. Who?:
Virginia Collera is a journalist who specialises in cultural themes, above all fonts, and images, our favourite combination. She is a writer and freelance translator, she knows a lot of languages and reads and posts on some of the blogs that we love the most, such as StoryBoard in the newspaper El Pais. Material:
One or more books that grabbed you attention at first sight. We are going to fall in love with them.
