What could be more typical Madrid than chestnuts wrapped in paper, a few cream puffs, good music, and a good time at the La Almudena street fair?  This is the spirit driving the second edition of the Festival Castañas y Buñuelos/Chestnuts and Cream Puffs Festival: to tie tradition to the changing times in one night when the typical chestnuts and cream puffs can be enjoyed to a soundtrack provided by hand-picked first-rate international and Spanish groups that vary in style from indie to folk to electronic.

Javiera Mena is working on her new album, which will be finished in 2013.  Before year's end she is doing a tour in Chile- where she can already be heard on mainstream radio- and in Mexico, and she is making just one stop in Spain.  This musician, who made everyone dance with her superb performance at Primavera Sound and in her successful Spanish tours, that girl whose natural and danceable melodies have earned her a legion of devoted fans and followers, the new heroine of pop and electronic en español, lands in Madrid the 9th of November for the “Castañas y Buñuelos” Festival.  Her album, MENA, produced by Cristian Heyne, which runs the gamut from disco to 80s techno pop to Italo-disco, hits hard thanks to its love songs and introspective lyrics.  Currently, its single Luz de Piedra de Luna, with a video directed by CANADÁ, is hot on mainstream radio in Latin America, getting playtime on American MTV, and becoming a favorite in Chile.  On her last visit to Spain, she toured with Hidrogenesse, Los Punsetes, Pegasvs and Triángulo de Amor Bizarro, and she made her new video Luz de Piedra de Luna with the producer CANADÁ.

Since 2007 Delorentos has released two critically-acclaimed albums: 2007's In Love with Detail, nominated for the Best Album award both at the Music Prize and Meteor Awards, and 2009's You can Make Sound, which made number 2 on the Irish charts and won Entertainment.ie 's Album of the Year.  In addition to enjoying success with their albums, Delorentos has always been a tour band, and since 2007 has toured around Ireland, as well as in United Kingdom, Europe, and North America.  Currently, they have further developed their sound on Little Sparks, produced and mixed by Rob Kirwan ( PJ HARVEY, U2, GLASSVEGAS, EDITORS, etc.), which will be available in January of 2012.  These Little Sparks hold more than one surprise: it is also a magazine and an EP.  You'll have to decypher these surprises at their concerts…

Reina Republicana was born in Pamplona at the end of 2009 as an indie superband, thanks to the careers of its constituents and thanks in addition to its all-star special guests.  Its members include Amaia Tirapu (Kokoshca / vocals and guitar), Iñigo Maya (Tristessa / drums, percussion) and Israel Medina (Half Foot Outside, Los Planetas / guitar), who got the project rolling.  Upon arriving, Amaia traveled for several months to England, which meant a hiatus for the project until 2010, when the group went back to work and began puttig together their songs.  Soon enough they recorded a demo with four tracks, including Mar diamante, Cloidina and La reina.  The idea is to leave the past behind and drop the influence of previous projects, focusing on writing simple, direct songs laced with pop, bossanova, C86 and guitar indie -My Bloody Valentine, The Jesus and Mary Chain.  Thr grouping is made solid with the addition of Apeto (bas) and Iván Guzmán (keyboard and guitar) and features collaborations with Banin Fraile (Los Planetas) and Guille Mostaza (Ellos).
"Go, Ibiza, Go! is a sharp reflection on entertainment" -Rolling Stone. "The latest thing in humor" -Ernesto Sevilla. "I just got back from seeing Go, Ibiza, Go! live.  The closest thing to those incredible shows by SUICIDE at CBGB. BRILLIANT. MASTERFUL" -Nacho Vigalondo.  Didac Alcaraz and Carlo Padial are the heart and soul of Go, Ibiza, Go!, a mixture of humor and pained laughter.  A cross between monologue, show, uncut videos, songs and performances.  A system for achieving small, controlled doses of catharsis.  It reaches the limits of entertainment.  It is very funny.  And healthy.  Horror, drama, delirium, and horesplay.  A new experience.  It's unadulterated fun.  Tons of levels of hilarity condensed into a very short amount of time.
