Chaika is a love story about a whore and an underdog sailor reconstructed over two long seasons: the eternal winter of Siberia and summer on the dusty steppes of Kazakhstan. Young Tursyn returns home to face what is left of his family: an old nomad on death's doorstep and a shipwreck of a father. The two of them bring back the vague memories that Tursyn has of his mother. Chaika is the adventure of uniting those memories that life has cast into the planet's most far-flung corners, near the ends of the earth.
