The children/youth program at Matadeto Madrid offers every month a wide selection of activities geared towards children and youths up to 16 years of age. These offerings include workshops, guided tours and special events. The goal is to use an interdisciplinary approach, with games as the primary educational element, to spark an interest in art and contemporary creation in our youth; to expand their knowledge and relate it to their individual experience, in order for them to become educated as active, creative and critical spectators.
A sneak-peek at the program's new activities, which will keep expanding over the coming months:
> Every Wednesday, from 6pm to 8pm Gamestar(t) Club Arsgames. Gamestar(T) explores the educational, socialization, and entertainment possibilities of videogames and other recreational activities.
> Saturday, June 4, from 11:30am to 2:30pm NoPhotovoz Edu 8-11 Workshop. Workshop for children from 8 to 11 years old. The Collective NOPHOTO teaches us about the digital camera, how to take a good photo and then how to know whether it really is good.
> Saturday, June 11, from 12pm to 2pm Under construction: Pardon our appearance are workshops based on the art installations at Abierto x Obras. On this occasion the workshop deals with Carlos Rodríguez Mendez's "Hombres sentados", discussing body parts and the objects best suited to represent us and learning to view the images from different perspectives.
