At 19, Eduardo Chillida (1924-2002) was an elite athlete born to become a soccer legend. But a brutal injury during a game kicked him out of professional sport. No one except Pilar Belzunce, his lifelong partner, suspected then that the young goal keeper from Hernani was about to re-write his own future and die, decades later, as one of the major Twentieth Century's sculptors.
Esku Huts is not a conventional biography, it is a poetical and intimate evocation of an artist beyond compare, Eduardo Chillida. His spirit is still alive through his works, his eight children and some of his closer assistants.
