Five immigrants from the Arganzuela neighbourhood stage the relationships they maintain with their countries of origin through the Internet. A Colombian couple holds a record in uninterrupted videoconferencing (68 hours). A Bengalese man stays abreast of his 20-month-old baby’s growth every day on Skype. A mother in Senegal sends a video message with advice for her son. A Colombian actress connects with Brazil to consult with her child’s psychic grandmother. And the rhythms of a Dominican rapper help to bridge the gaps. Conectados (Connected)is the result of the residency of Cía Puctum and BiNeural-MonoKultur at El Ranchito and forms part of the series Virtual Performances (a virtual theatre laboratory that consists of a series of virtual-theatrical interventions via videoconference over the Internet).
