DESIGNING

The design and creativity workshops for children are back! Sunday 13 March kicks off a new series of workshops for children (primary school students aged 6 to 12) organised by muakbabi.

These Design and Creativity workshops are conducted based on a specific method implemented and designed by muakbabi, rooted in the creative process and in design thinking:

• Observation
• Inspiration and Playing Around
• Reflection and Questioning
• Imagination
• Transformation and Rethinking
• Sketching and Building

Based on the concept of Design Thinking and various creative techniques like Visual Thinking, Storytelling, Mental Maps, Talent Development, etc., we will carry out activities relating to Design in its different manifestations: fashion, design of spaces, product and graphic design, etc.  
 

Exhibitions held in Central de Diseño while the workshops are being offered will be used as tools to allow us to observe the results of Design up close and to use them to foster critical awareness and learning.

muakbabi is a studio created in late 2010 which is devoted to product design and to creativity and design-based activities that are carried out primarily in Central de Diseño at Matadero, among other venues. It comprises a group of multidisciplinary professionals from sectors such as architecture, design, photography and the fine arts, who are eager to creatively revolutionise people. It is their firm conviction that it’s possible to live and think creatively. Set your dial to #OnCreative always mode! 

The studio is managed by Marta Pascual, who graduated with an undergraduate degree in Law but vocationally re_converted herself, moving into Creativity, Art and Design and specialising in Museography and Exhibition Design and Artistic Education. Certified by the Barret Values Centre in various creativity techniques, she is endorsed by the EOI (Industrial Organisation School) as a teacher of Innovation and R&D&I Project Management, Humanism and Technology, Social Innovation and Information Technology. She is a professor for the Children’s Creative Culture, Leisure and Creativity module in the I Master’s Degree in Children’s Product and Space Design at IED in Madrid. After gaining years of experience in museums and design, in 2010 she created the muakbabi studio with the sole mission of transmitting creativity in the areas of products and education in order to transform the world and its people.
