Madrid´s City Council organises DocumentaMadrid, a festival devoted to the different kinds of documentary films; an annual gathering for professional filmmakers and their audience. The 15th edition of the International Documentary Film Festival DocumentaMadrid will take place from 3 to 13 May 2018.
DocumentaMadrid has three different competing categories, with awards up to €52,500, and will offer retrospectives on prestigious filmmakers as well as a wide range of professional activities and trainings. DocumentaMadrid is firmly committed to supporting and promoting documentary film, offering a programme that opens up new lines of communication from the latest genre perspectives and languages. It is a political and ethical commintment underpinning today´s reality that looks at the past from a critical point of view. The festival aims at being a priviledged spot to settle a forum for dialogue between filmmakers and the public.
DocumentaMadrid´s upcoming edition welcomes all films and filmmakers involved in redefining the aesthetic boundaries of cinema, generating new audiences and consolidating and expanding links to a demanding and critical public.
