"El arquitecto y el emperador de Asiria is a play that invites us to delve into human behaviour and bonds, which are what –ultimately– define us as beings shaped by guilt. Arrabal tells of our sacred universe, of the internal struggle for all that we are and all that we long to be as we endeavour to find ourselves. He uses humour, poetry and the absurd, skilfully weaving a story whose relevance is truly striking. Although the play is nearly 50 years old, it seems to have been written yesterday."
