Matadero Madrid opens the 2 x 1 project by presenting the latest works of two groups who have made a name for themselves on the Madrid scene: mmmm... and Los Torreznos. The proposal combines several artistic disciplines and activities which overlap each other in time. The visual and performance arts will occupy the Abierto X Obras area and the Vestíbulo (Entrance hall), with two installations, live presentations and performances. With no fixed schedule, in future editions 2 x 1 will continue to showcase groups and artists based in Madrid.   Los Torreznos is made up of Rafael Lamata and Jaime Vallaure, who define themselves as "a tool for communicating social and political attitudes and the most deep-rooted customs". Their work, which is mostly audiovisual and performance based, is accessible to all and is oriented towards experimentation with simple forms such as gesture, language, and presence, always using humour and day‑to‑dayness as their cornerstone.   Los Torreznos close their participation in 2 x 1 with El cielo (The sky), a performance which they have already staged at the Girona MAPA festival.   "The sky is often defined as the place where the stars move and, due to a visual effect, appear to encircle the Earth. The colour of the sky is the result of diffuse radiation, the interaction of sunlight with the atmosphere. On a sunny day the sky of our planet is normally blue. Various materials fall from the sky. When night falls the colour changes to very dark blue, almost black. Visible and invisible materials are projected and launched into the sky. During the day the sun can be seen in the sky, unless it is obscured by clouds. During the night (and to a certain extent during the day) the Moon, the stars and occasionally some neighbouring planets can be seen in the sky. There is a close relationship between the sky and the Earth, and the distance from the Earth to the Moon is less than you might think". Los Torreznos 2 x 1 is a Matadero Madrid project.
